Loved it..We all have issues this made me feel more real...It should be made into life time movie.I would recommend to everyone not just recovering addicts.. I grew up with a pill popping mama..It unfolds into the depth of everyday living just surviving...Beautiful Read.....

As a licensed therapist specializing in addiction I constantly read a lot of literature on the subject. This book is amazing in its humanness, how it accurately depicts addiction and the emotions it evokes in the reader. The book takes you on one man's incredible journey from innocent child through out of control obsessed addict to someone using only to avoid withdrawing. The author does this with incredible vulnerability, humility, and humor. If you have a loved one in addiction who's actions you can't fathom, you wonder what they are going through that causes them to act the way they do, or you are struggling with addiction and feel alone in the disease this book will help you understand in a way that only one addict can understand another. Push Down and Turn is a page turner that will pull you in. I am a voracious reader and I couldn't put it down until I was finished with the last page and then I still wanted the rest of the story. When an author is is willing to face honesty and build life with an ounce of humility, there can never be an issue with a content of pure entertainment. Although names are changed.
This book will make you laugh and cry.....as it opens your eyes and heart to the ever churning lifewalk of an addict.

I have to say this is one of, if not the best books I have ever read. It was an honor and a privilege to read something that is the absolute truth about the life of an addict. To say this book is phenomenal doesn't even do it justice. I recommend anyone, those that have the disease of addiction or not, to take a few hours of your time to read it. You will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't. Thank you, Dr. Cole, for your honesty and words of encouragement.
Oh my goodness...if you ever found yourself trying to understand the mind of an addict!! This book is for you. I got those book and devoured it in one sitting. Plan accordingly, you won't be able to put it down. Written with humor and humility from the depths of dispair...it shows that there is hope and recovery for even the smartest, sneakiest, and secret addict. A must read.
